Their mission is Building Better Communities through Effective Nonprofits. They offer a continuum of services in consulting and training for nonprofits throughout the state of Oklahoma.
The Potts Family Foundation supports the operation of the Center for Nonprofits annually, having contributed over $900,000 since 2009.
Oklahoma City Educare
A year-round comprehensive, center-based, developmental childcare, with education and related services was developed as part of a facility designed for 200 children (64 children aged zero to 36 months and 136 children aged 3 to 5 years) at 36th and Shields. It opened in July of 2009. The Potts Family Foundation has committed $250,000 over three years (2007-2010) toward its creation.
Sunbeam Family Services (Oklahoma City)
Sunbeam Family Services, is Oklahoma City’s oldest volunteer-led and supported, nonprofit agency. For 100 years, Sunbeam has provided help for all ages at all stages of life. Adults, children, families and senior citizens alike have benefited from the services it provides at little or no cost.
Potts Family Foundation has committed over $140,000 since 2009.
The Center for Children and Families
PFF works with the Center for Children and Families through their Parent Assistance Program and Teenage Parenting program to provide services and support for parents and children who are at risk for abuse, neglect, and developmental difficulties. These programs also helps provide services and support for pregnant and parenting teens in Cleveland County. Since 2009, PFF has granted over $127,000 to their work.
University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center
Potts Family Foundation works with OUHSC through the program SafeCare which works to prevent child maltreatment (0-5 years) in high risk Latino families through teaching skills to caregivers. The prevention model focuses on a developmental-ecological approach that is based on the concept that risk factors can occur on different levels such as individual, family, environmental, and cultural. Potts Family Foundation has supported the work of OUHSC giving over $100,000 since 2009.
Oklahoma Institute for Child Advocacy
Since 2011, Potts Family Foundation has contributed $89,000 to OICA’s work across Oklahoma.
Smart Start Oklahoma
Potts Family Foundation has worked with the Strengthening Families Program at both the state and community level. It is an approach to child abuse prevention that uses early childhood programs to provide families with the support and resources they needed in 7 state communities. PFF has supported Smart Start OK through partnership grants and through contributing over $75,000 since 2009.
Since 2011, Potts Family Foundation has contributed $30,000 to Family Builders and their work across the state.
Starting in 2015, Potts Family Foundation has helped fund OETA’s programing for young children. So far over $17,000 has been contributed to OETA and their work providing free, on-air programing for young children across Oklahoma.
Oklahoma Parents as Teachers (Norman)
OPAT works with parents as a child’s first teacher. They offer materials and classes for families of newborn to 5 year olds on development of physical, emotional, mental and cognitive skills. They also offer information on safety and health issues for the family. Potts Family Foundation has contributed over $12,000 to their work since 2011.
Oklahoma City Community College (OCCC)
Since 2013, Potts Family Foundation has granted $10,000.
