Resilience Documentary

Film screenings of the award-winning documentary Resilience: The Biology of Stress & the Science of Hope.

This hour-long film documents the landmark Adverse Childhood Experiences (ACEs) study by Drs. Rob Anda and Vince Felitti in the late 1990s.

From that study we learn how early adversity and toxic stress can change brain and body putting individuals at a greater risk for chronic, homelessness, prison time and even early death. While the broader impacts of poverty increase the risk for ACEs, no segment of society is immune. The film also chronicles a strong research and education movement fighting back. Trailblazers in pediatrics, education and social services are using cutting-edge science and field-tested therapies to protect children from the negative effects of toxic stress – and the legacy of a childhood that no one would choose.

We can show the film in person or in a virtual format, and we always follow the screening with a moderated discussion. To view a trailer for this film, click here. To schedule a screening, please email Linda Manaugh.
