Funding from this grant will support the Belonging Project: Strengthening Inclusion in Early Care for Young Children with Developmental Differences, three-level pilot program in the Oklahoma City metro area to help early care providers better serve children with developmental delays and disabilities in their classrooms. This project provides practical strategies, coaching, and classroom support to help children remain in the classroom, participate in daily routines, and build relationships with their peers. This pilot will serve two early childhood centers, reaching approximately 40 teachers and 200 young children, including 10–20 children with developmental differences who will receive more intensive support. Participating centers will be recruited through statewide early childhood networks, including Childcare Resource and Referral, the Oklahoma Tribal Childcare Association, the Developmental Disabilities Council of Oklahoma and the Oklahoma Autism Center.
